during my 5 months in southeast asia i always looked for the-local-the-better restaurants. (i decided from the very beginning that i wanted to try…. everything). which resorted in ordering my meals by pointing to a photo on the menu, or to whatever the other guests, in the restaurant were eating. if both of that was not available i will bust out my best chicken, cow, or pig imitations. aside from the food aaaalways being fantastic and resulting in me nooooow being able to eat extremely spicy, i always loved to be able to see the kitchen or on the way restroom walking through the owner’s living room (for example) and i got to see images of….. shay lee always described it best with: “it’s perfect”.
